Terms of service

Last updated: 3 July 2026

In plain words

  • Macromuffin’s agents do real work for your business. You set how much they do alone; anything public or costly waits for your yes until you say otherwise.
  • Your business is yours: the content, the code, the customers, the revenue. We take a flat fee and 0% of what you make.
  • AI can be wrong. You’re the director: review what matters, and don’t treat outputs as legal, tax, or financial advice.

1Agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Macromuffin. By creating an account you accept them, and you confirm you are at least 18 and using Macromuffin for business purposes. If you accept on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

2The service

Macromuffin is an operating system for founders: a coordinated set of AI agents that helps you check, build, run, and improve one or more businesses: drafting and shipping content, code, outreach, and analyses, monitoring your numbers, and acting on them within the controls described in section 4. Macromuffin is a tool operated under your direction; it is not your employee, agent at law, director, or fiduciary.

3Your account

Keep your credentials secure; you’re responsible for activity under your account. Connections you authorise (domains, email, repositories, analytics, payment accounts) must be ones you’re entitled to connect, and you can revoke them at any time from settings.

4Approvals, autonomy & rollback

  • Approval queue. By default, actions that are public-facing or spend money are drafted and wait in your approval queue. Approving an action is your instruction to ship it.
  • Earned autonomy. You may allow categories of action to run autonomously, including via auto-graduation after repeated approvals. You can revert any category to manual approval at any time, unconditionally.
  • Always-gated actions. Some actions are always subject to your explicit confirmation regardless of settings, including statutory or tax filings and changes to sensitive code paths (authentication, billing, infrastructure).
  • Rollback. Reversible autonomous actions emit rollback records so you can undo them within the stated window; some actions (for example a sent email) are inherently irreversible, and the product tells you which is which.

You are responsible for the autonomy settings you choose and for actions taken within them.

5Your business & content

Everything you bring to Macromuffin (your ideas, content, data, customer relationships, and revenue) remains yours. We charge the subscription fees in section 8 and take no share of your revenue. You grant us a licence to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate the service for you, including sending it to model providers per your settings. You can export your data and leave at any time.

6Generated output

As between you and us, you own the output Macromuffin generates for your business (copy, code, designs, documents), and we assign to you any rights we hold in it. Because AI systems can produce similar output for different users, we can’t promise your output is unique or that equivalent output won’t exist elsewhere, and you’re responsible for checking that your use of output (including trade marks and brand names it suggests) doesn’t infringe third-party rights.

7Acceptable use

You may only operate lawful businesses on Macromuffin. Without limitation, you must not use it to:

  • send marketing that breaches applicable law (including UK PECR, EU ePrivacy rules, and CAN-SPAM), and you are responsible for the lawfulness of your outreach lists and consents;
  • infringe others’ rights, deceive consumers, or run scams, or operate in sectors we prohibit (for example adult content, gambling, weapons and munitions, illegal drugs, and regulated financial, credit, or investment services we are not authorised to support);
  • probe, overload, or circumvent the service’s security or usage limits, or resell the service without our agreement.

8Plans, fees & billing

Plans are Solo ($49), Pro ($149), and Studio ($299) per month, billed in advance via Stripe. Billing is in US dollars; where we display GBP or EUR, those are indicative conversions. Each plan includes the stated number of concurrently active businesses; an additional concurrently active business can be added for 50% of your base plan price. You can cancel any time and your plan runs to the end of the paid period; we don’t give partial-month refunds. We’ll give at least 30 days’ notice of price changes, which take effect at your next renewal.

9Credits & autonomous budget

Plans include a usage allowance split across two regimes (autonomous work and interactive work), shown on your credit meter. Top-up packs can be purchased if you run out; top-ups expire 12 months after purchase and are non-refundable. If your allowance is exhausted, autonomous work pauses until renewal or top-up; we’ll never silently bill overages.

10Third-party services

The service depends on third parties: model providers, Stripe, hosting, and the services you connect. Their availability and terms are theirs; where you bring your own model keys, your relationship with that provider (including its costs and limits) is direct between you and them.

11Changes to the service

Macromuffin is an evolving product. We may add, change, or retire features; if we materially reduce core functionality you’ve paid for, you may cancel and we’ll refund the unused remainder of the current period.

12Disclaimers

AI-generated work can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Macromuffin’s outputs (including idea checks, market research, draft filings, and financial or tax calculations) are tools to help you decide, not professional advice; nothing in the service is legal, tax, accounting, financial, or investment advice, and filings are prepared for your review and submission as the responsible director. Except as expressly stated, the service is provided “as is” and we disclaim implied warranties to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13Liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total aggregate liability arising out of the service in any 12-month period is capped at the fees you paid us in that period. You remain responsible for your business’s decisions and outcomes.

14Indemnity

You’ll indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content, your business’s products or marketing, or your breach of section 7, except to the extent caused by our breach of these terms.

15Suspension & termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate for material breach (with notice and a chance to fix it where practical) or where required for security or by law. On termination you’ll have 30 days to export your data, after which we delete it per the Privacy policy’s retention terms.

16Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where they apply.

17Changes to these terms

We’ll notify you of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that is acceptance. The current version always lives at /terms.
